Mexico, experience a Latin adventure!

Mexico & Central America
Mexico, experience a Latin adventure!
I have travelled to Mexico via the typical and very over done “All-Inclusive Resort” and I have vacationed as well by renting a condo from a Canadian couple that have a few such properties in the areas of the Mayan Riviera and Cancun, Mexico. Either way you decide to go, you will truly enjoy the Latin Style adventure waiting for you. Read more »

Canada Cottage Rentals
Thunder Bay, another great white north.
If you do decide to do the 17 hour drive north-west vis-à-vis the nicer weather and sunny lit highways of Ontario, you will find yourselves in “camp” country. Cottages, chalets, vacation rentals, big or small, luxury or rustic are all called “camps”. “Heading to camp” is a customary term that is the same as saying, “going to the cottage for the weekend.” Read more »

Winter Prep: Seasonal Cottage Rentals and the Shut-down

Improvement Tips
Winter Prep: Seasonal Cottage Rentals and the Shut-down
Not all cottage rentals are 4 season dwellings. In fact most are not. Canadian climate generally does not permit a simple solution to all year maintenance for heat and hydro. Even solar powered and wind powered homes require maintenance and monitoring all year due to our winters. In the last few years we have been blessed with milder temperatures and less snow in some parts of the country, where other parts have been slammed with heavy snowfall and terrible storms. Nova Scotia cottage rentals

Canada Cottage Rentals
Nova Scotia cottage rentals
“New Scotland” was where the Latin word came from to name this lovely little province on Canada’s east coast. The most populated of the 4 Maritime provinces, everything in Nova Scotia is influenced by the sea and it has over 3800 coastal islands, and is the second largest densely populated province over all in Canada (as physically it is the second smallest in land mass). This is one of the biggest reasons why vacation rentals are so vastly popular in this coastal region of Canada east coast. It’s BUSY!!! Read more »

Cottage Rentals
ATV’s, 4 Wheelers….just like a car!
Okay, so you’ve called the guys, everyone’s on the list and coming up. Beer … check. Food….. check. Toilet paper….. check. Propane…. Check. ATV rental….. check! And CHECK!!! You are all set for a fun filled long weekend in the bush to do some serious mud man stuff, fishing, eating, drinking…. It’s all good. Here’s the thing though, just because it’s a smaller version, does not make that ATV or 4 Wheeler any less of a motorised vehicle at your local Ontario Cottage Rental, and the back trails than a full sized car. Florida, more than just oranges, a whole orchard of vacation rentals

USA Vacation Rentals
Florida, more than just oranges, a whole orchard of vacation rentals
I don’t think I have ever met anyone who has never been to Florida at some point in their lives. We always did the tourist “thing” as kids and later when our kids were very young, stayed a local resort to Disney to see Magic Kingdom, Epcot Centre, Typhoon Lagoon…. It was always a big pleaser for the children, and we had fun as grown-ups too. Read more »

Quebec City, is it really a city? Or actually is it a walk back in time?

Canada Cottage Rentals
Quebec City, is it really a city? Or actually is it a walk back in time?
“Kébec”, named after the Algonquin word meaning “where the river narrows”, is the second largest city in the province of Quebec, and as well is the province’s capital. The St. Lawrence River narrows as it enters the city, on the one side Levis, and on the other side, Cape Diamont. This is how the city came by its name. The St. Lawrence River is an integral part of Quebec history, both in merchant and battle. The city’s historical significance dates back to the early part of 1500’s, and is one of the oldest historical cities in North America. Jacques Cartier built the first settlement on site in 1535. Chalet’s in the Laurentides, a Quebec escape …

Chalet’s in the Laurentides, a Quebec escape …
More commonly termed, “The Laurentians” in English, this region of Quebec is just north of Montreal, in the Laurentian Mountains. It was originally inhabited by the Montagnais First Nations tribe in Quebec, until the French settled in the first half of the 19th century, and began to establish one farming community after another. The mountains boast the highest point at Mount Raoul Blanchard, at 1166 meters, and lakes in this region are a wonder to the eye and the photo lens Read more »
