The township of Pelee is actually made up of 9 islands and is the most southern point of Canadian geographical boundary, between Sandusky, Ohio and Windsor County, Ontario. With its natural conservation areas, you will discover lovely and peaceful beach areas, and great fishing spots. Much of what the island has to offer is seasonal, and as always, you should look into it in advance, to avoid disappointment, especially cottage rentals. There is a limited supply of what is available for rent for cottages, and with the season running mostly from May until October; it will limit you, so book early. Some things to do on the island, but not limited to:

Pelee Island has the feel of a faraway place, but is actually still a part of Canada. Due to its southern point, it boasts some of the hottest temperatures in the country, and has the longest frost free seasonality. This benefits local area wildlife and plant life, as the island has a much wider and rare assortment of wild mammals, birds and insects. Many Canadian families have rented cottages on the island for years, to learn more about these rare species of birds, amphibians and mammals. The conservation areas and heritage centres offer an educational experience that your family and friends will enjoy.
