Colorado Vacation Rentals: Condos, Cabins, Lodges and Mountain Rentals
We think of Denver or Aspen or Breckenridge when we think of Colorado, but the state has some hidden locations in there that are fantastic to explore off the beaten path. Yes the skiing is to die for, and in fact some places the main claim to fame is the perfect slopes of the Rockies dusted with powder most of the year. But then there is also the hidden canyon of the Green River in the upper northwest area of the state, skirting the area of the Rangeley Dome, where the town of Craig offers majestic hot air balloon rides under a sky so low that you can nearly touch the clouds from the ground. While here, take a peek at Dinosaur National Monument, where just across the border you can see a dense collection of fossils. South of there you can visit Native American settlements and ruins tucked into canyons that have rivers flowing in deep. The Mesa Verde National Park showcases the best of it. As you head east there is the grand Colorado River that flows through the state. While here you can ski, hike, camp, or lounge in a resort. There are spa towns, and green towns, and of Denver itself. If you get there and are unsure where to go the state offers exceptional Welcome Centers staffed with helpful locals who know the state and can assist you in planning a stay here, be in for the week or the rest of your life.
