This neat south-facing cottage is the ideal place to enjoy all
this area has to offer and at just an hour and a half from
Toronto, ideal for a short break. This traditional Chemong
cottage was renovated a few years ago to offer great
accommodation in neat surroundings. You'll notice some uneven
floors and in one bedroom, one of the bed legs has been raised to
compensate for the slope. We think this adds to the slightly
quirky nature of the cottage.
Three private bedrooms, each well furnished, are attractive with
lots of cedar. The bathroom offers both shower and bathtub. The
comfortable open-concept kitchen is well-equipped with
appliances, cupboards, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and
everything the cottage cook might need.
The open concept, living and dining area, has sliding doors to
the large deck overlooking scenic Chemong Lake. The views from
the deck can be savoured while enjoying your early morning coffee
or while enjoying a meal on the deck patio. The hobbiest or
reader would find the screened-in sunroom, filled with morning
and afternoon sunlight a retreat in itself!
This south-facing cottage has a large, lawned area for garden
games and children’s play equipment. The dock is ideal for the
avid fisherman in the family and the waterfront is weedy and not
suitable for swimming. However Emily Provincial Park is a few
kilometres away where you will find a sandy beach and swimming
area.
For the evenings, you can enjoy sitting back in the muskoka
chairs, watching the stars and listening to the firepit crackling
flames while taking in the wonderful atmosphere. On those
evenings with poor weather or if it turns cool, you may enjoy the
entertainment centre, which includes TV, DVD, CD stereo and VCR,
while enjoying the warmth the electric burning stove provides.
There is a window AC unit in the living area.
This cottage sits towards the quieter portion of Chemong Lake and
is part of the Trent Severn System; therefore a family or small
group of friends may enjoy all the water activities which cottage
life has to offer. A pedalboat is available for your use. While
canoeing and kayaking are popular around this part of the lake,
motor sport rental is a 10-minute drive away, if you want to take
a day, on the water, to explore the Trent Severn System. Also,
the avid fishers will find outstanding fishing on this lake .
For your convenience, shopping, restaurants and general stores
are just a short drive away. There is a lot to do in this area of
the Kawarthas. From antique shopping, sightseeing, fairs,
exhibits, festivals, museums or enjoying the drive-in movies just
a few kilometres away, exploring the country roads around and
about, to just kicking back and relaxing at the cottage, you'll
have as much or as little to do, however the mood takes you.
