Chalets, Cottages and Vacation Homes in Pennsylvania
Widely popular because of Revolutionary War-era sites like Valley Forge, major cities Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Amish farmlands, and industrial history, Pennsylvania is varied indeed. From seeing railroad museums to taking in Gettysburg at the National Military Park there, you are bound to find plenty to interest you. There is a Great Lake coastline on one boarder and a major seaport on the other. Every season brings splendor, with cold snowy winters, beautiful green springtime, luxurious warm summers, and extremely colorful autumns. While you are here, you might want to take in the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Then you should respectfully visit the quiet beauty of the Amish county, and perhaps take in the mountains that ring it.
If you are looking for something civilized to do, the state has loads of amusement parks. Some of the best known are Kennywood and Sandcastle Water Park in Pittsburgh, Hersheypark in Hershey, Dorney Park & Wildewater Kingdom in Allentown, Sesame Place in Philadelphia, and Waldameer Park and Water World in Erie. Oh and there is Knoebels which is the largest free-admission theme park in the nation. If you would rather gamble, there are a number of places for that too, some of which are also horseracing locations. The Philly Cheesesteak is native here, but not the only unique item on the menu. The Amish offer a number of special choices and this has spread throughout the state. Things like funnel cake, apple butter, scrapple, shoofly pie, and more are common here. If you are of age you can try the oldest brew in the United States, Yuengling. You might even want to take a tour of the brewery in Pottsville.
